A good time to work with me is when you

are about to begin a new project or phase in life
have begun, become stuck, or lost heart
find yourself going round in circles
don't know where you're going or where you truly want to go
are doing well but want to do better

At times like these working together can

focus your creativity and direction
speed the process
conserve your time and energy
renew inspiration
regenerate confidence and the strength to continue

Clients, be they groups or individuals, come to me when they need extra focus, clarity and inspiration.   It can be any issue:

                  life                       (a client's experience)

                  work                       (a client's experience)

                  business                    (a client's experience)

                  relationships            (a client's experience)

                  love                       (a client's experience)

                  play                        (a client's experience)

                  art                              (a client's experience)

                  learning                  (a client's experience)

finding your creative genius - putting it into practice

The method I use is based on the creative genius within us all.   Its essence is how to develop that genius so that our response to life is fresh and appropriate, suitable to the moment, providing a sound base for the future.   It is a practical, fun, hands-on way of assessing knowledge - both yours and others - digesting it afresh - making it your own - then from that balanced platform, creating a new and vital solution to what may be an old problem or a fresh challenge.   This, I believe, is creativity in action.   This is how the knowledge of the past is transformed into the living present, which in turn shapes the vibrant future.

Whether the question is general:    Where am I?    Where do I want to be?   How do I get there?
or specific:

How do I get my fire back?
What is my ideal work?
What is the next step in this relationship?
How can I rehearse this orchestra and get them to play according to my vision?
What is preventing me achieving my goal and where does it come from?   How do I break through this barrier?
How do I get rid of my machine-like way of working and get back into the flow?
Every time we work together it turns into a battle.   How do I make this a positive relationship?
Why do I come across as aloof in social settings?
How can I collaborate well?
How can I maintain my inner calm?
How can I function with joy?
What is the heart of my project?   What is it I want to make or communicate?
Where am I with my business?   Where do I want to be?
How can I go beyond procrastinating?
What is our common vision and how do we attain it?

We will probably start with a Play of Life session, exploring together the three-dimensional tableaux you will literally create using miniature figures and props, in a sequence like this:

1.   You create a picture of the full reality of where you are now - making the hidden visible and the unspoken voiced - so you can make a fully informed and balanced decision.   You give a title to this picture, reducing the situation to one sentence - the very essence of things.   Then you will do the same with:

2.   Creating a picture, together with title, of who, where and how you would truly like to be - creating your ideal world - so you know where you're headed. Then we discover:

3.   The first step you need to make to bridge the gap between current reality and your ideal - this is the essential key to making it all happen.

4.   Sessions can be intense and full of insights, making it difficult to remember everything. Post session the integration process continues, so I provide notes and photos both as a record and a guide for the future. The pictures alone are a powerful and anonymous visual shorthand and can be carried in wallets, used as screensavers or even made into t-shirts. Clients often find looking back over the notes is like reliving the session in all its power.   Knowing a record is being made also allows you to enter fully into your creative experience during the session.

Then, if necessary, some follow-up sessions to:

5.   Keep you practising until you're up and running on your own.

Or in the future:

6.   Start afresh when new dreams or steps become necessary in response to the ups and downs of life.

You bring   your issue, curiosity, openness and desire for change

I bring   over thirty years experience as a writer, co-producer, educator, counsellor and coach coupled with a great love of working with people who approach things as an artist does

with courage, discipline, inspiration
and the willingness to risk something new

How long we work together will depend on your situation and the nature of the issue at hand.   We might spend only one session together, or several sessions over a period of time, using a variety of methods to suit the occasion.
