SPARK now into its second phase

NEWS:

The first phase of SPARK, the AFC/AFTRS intensive development initiative, used several approaches to crack open the creative process of storytelling, rather than just script feedback. Four teams are now working on new drafts for submission in June.

Scriptwriter and counsellor Helen Carmichael used a technique called The Play of Life in her bold one-to-one sessions, for example. This technique was developed by Dr Carlos Raimundo and involves miniature stages and figures.

Helen's work was inspiring because it went beyond the work itself to the place the work comes from, said participant Jo Kennedy. To find new ways to access and move through core material is a blessing, and not something one expects to find in a script workshop.
